Willis Capital Forex prop firm review – Severe issues detected!

The Willis Capital prop firm offers funded accounts. There are currently two funded account types, but traders can only pick the SkillCheck challenge, so we will focus on this one in this review. The firm offers funded options from 3k to 100k USD and has one 2-step evaluation account, requiring trailers to hit profit targets twice. The pricing model seems competitive, starting at 35 dollars for a 3k USD challenge. The profit share is 70%, which is slightly below the industry average levels.

In today’s Willis Capital review, we will assess the firm’s most critical features, including safety, rules, fees, platforms, funding options and types, education, support, and more.

Pros & cons of Willis Capital prop firm

Pros

  • Most payment options are free and instant
  • Offers access to diverse markets like Forex pairs, cryptos, indices, and commodities
  • Fast and digital account opening/verification
  • Low total loss limit of 5%

Cons

  • Lacks safety: has many negative trader reviews and is very inexperienced (launched in 2023)
  • Does not offer access to MetaTrader 4 or MetaTrader 5
  • No ability to withdraw with $0 fees

Safety of Willis Capital – 0

Willis Capital reviews are lacking on the FPA platform, which is always a red flag. There are also a few reviews on the Trustpilot platform, below 100. From these 100 reviews, 12% of evaluations are 1-star ratings, which indicates the firm has some inefficiencies in its services. Experience-wise, the firm was launched in 2023, which makes it a very inexperienced and young prop firm, which is reflected in a substantial number of negative reviews on Trustpilot. All funded accounts offered by the firm are virtual funded accounts, meaning traders can only access demo trading even when they get funded. Overall, the firm seems unsafe in its current form and can not be recommended for our readers.

willis capital

The firm gets a 0 score in this section for lacking all crucial safety features and having many negative trader reviews.

Willis Capital Funding and Maximum Capital Allocation – 3

Willis Capital funded programs are two, but the firm currently only allows SkillCheck Challenge, which is a 2-step evaluation account. Willis Capital funding options include 3k, 5k, 10k, 25k, 50k, and 100k USD amounts. The challenge requires traders to pass two evaluation phases and hit profit targets twice to get funded and trade for profits. However, many negative trader reviews indicate serious inefficiencies in the firm’s trading services.

Willis Capital is more suitable for beginners with its 3K challenge but unfriendly with experienced traders as its highest funded option is 100k USD only. The most reliable firms that are suitable for experienced traders are usually offering at least 1 million USD in funding.

The Willis Capital scaling plan allows traders to scale their accounts up to 500k USD, which is still low for experienced traders and not a very attractive offering.

The firm gets a 3 score in this section for offering decent funding options but still lacking higher funding amounts.

Willis Capital Assets – 2.5

Willis Capital prop trading is possible through speculating on various financial markets, including Forex pairs, indices, commodities, and cryptos. The spreads are high, and there is no option for 0 pips spreads on major FX pairs. There are no commissions charged for trading currency pairs. The firm does not offer nor allow access to other popular assets such as stocks or futures.

In the end, the firm gets a 2.5 score in this section.

Willis Capital Trading rules and limitations – 1.2

Willis Capital rules require traders to hit a 5% profit target in phase 1 and a 10% profit target in phase 2. The rules for risk limits are also different for each phase. There is no daily risk limit for phase one, but it is set at 5% for phase 2. The maximum drawdown limit is 5% for phase 1 and 10% for phase 2. As we can see, the risk limits are very strict for the initial phase and require traders to assess their strategy risk appetite carefully. The only positive thing about the firm’s rules is the requirement of a 5% profit target for phase 1, but it becomes difficult at phase 2 as it is increased to 10%.

Traders are allowed to trade during the news and hold positions over weekends. However, when opening trading positions during major economic news, traders are required to use stop loss orders, or trades will be closed automatically.

In the end, Willis Capital gets a 1.2 score in this section for offering strict rules.

Willis Capital Fees – 3

The pricing from the firm is very competitive. The smallest 3K challenge starts at 35 dollars and has two phases. Here is the list of all one-time fees:

  • Funded amount: 3,000 USD – One-time fee: 35 USD
  • 5,000 USD – 45 USD
  • 10,000 USD – 89 USD
  • 25,000 USD – 189 USD
  • 50,000 USD – 310 USD
  • 100,000 USD – 450 USD

The pricing is very competitive and beginner-friendly, but the firm’s safety is questionable.

The Willis Capital free trial is not available at the moment, and the Willis Capital free repeat is not offered either, making it difficult for us to recommend this firm to anyone. The firm gets a 3 score in this section.

Willis Capital Platforms – 0.9

The firm offers only proprietary platforms, which are custom web platforms far inferior to popular advanced software. There are no MT4 or MT5 offered, which makes it almost impossible to analyze markets properly. There is no support for custom indicators or automated trading systems. Mobile trading, while available, is very inconvenient with this platform.

Overall, the firm gets a 0.9 score in this section.

Willis Capital Profit-Sharing – 1

Willis Capital profit split is 70%, which is lower than the average industry-accepted standard of 80%. The firm does not offer fast withdrawals, and several negative trader comments indicate that the firm might decline withdrawals.

The firm gets a 1 score in this section.

Education and trading tools at Willis Capital – 3

The firm offers educational trading courses where it promises to teach trading principles. There are no webinars or video guides; only trading courses are available.

The firm gets a 3 score in this section.

Customer Support at Willis Capital – 2.4

Customer support at Willis Capital is provided via live chat and email options. There is no phone support provided. Both the website and support are only offered in the English language, which is also a downside.

In the end, the firm gets a 2.4 score in this section for lacking multilingual support and phone support.
